Eugene Morely Manchak
November 8, 1957 - July 8, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Eugene Morely Manchak announces his passing on July 8th, 2024 at the age of 66 after a short battle with lung cancer.
He will lovingly be remembered by his children, Levi (Jessica), Danielle [sic] (Sean) and Katelyn; his brother, Gordon (Bonnie), sister, Violet as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Allen [sic] and Adeline Manchak and his sister, Elaine Sekora.
Eugene loved the outdoors, and the peace he found in nature. He could often be found teaching others how to forage for mushrooms and other wild herbs, fishing, hunting or just taking a long walk in beautiful surroundings. Eugene found his passion of sharing his knowledge of the natural world with others through Alberta Outdoorsmen, where he often submitted pictures, articles and advice to those who sought out his expertise.
"This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls." - John Muir
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation in Eugene's name.

Leanne Laurel Sekora
April 25, 1969 – January 15, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of Leanne Sekora at home surrounded by family on Sunday, January 15th, 2023, at the age of 53.
Leanne was born in Simcoe, Ontario the oldest of 3 children. The family relocated to Calmar in 1979. Leanne, Allan, and a new son moved to Edmonton where she attended Estelle Beauty Academy. In 1990, they moved to the family farm south of Calmar and they welcomed a second son shortly thereafter. Leanne joined her mother as a hair stylist in Calmar to begin a long career and enjoyed making many relationships and bonds along the way. Leanne’s next chapter would find her in the education field, working as an EA at New Humble School, and later becoming the Librarian at both New Humble and Thorsby elementary, she loved children and was always a child at heart. With their sons by their side, they were married in Canmore in 1997, and on Oct 1 they celebrated 35yrs together. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening; her flower gardens were a place of happiness and pride.
Life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2012, fought it, and then again found herself in a new battle in 2017. Again, she faced the battle head-on as only she could, never losing faith and staying positive till the end.
Leanne will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a lover of life, always looking for the good in people and helping those in need unselfishly.
She is survived by her Husband Allan; son Damian, son Steven (Ashley)(Keaton & Seth), parents Lanny & Laurel, Aunt Ruth, sister Leslee (Shane), brother Layne (Deanna), sister in law Trish (Donald),7 Nieces and 1 nephew, 4 great nieces and 3 great nephews.
She was predeceased by her paternal father Walter Scott in 2017, and her father and mother-in-law Myron [sic] (1995) and Elaine Sekora (2016).
Special thanks to all on the AHS Homecare team.
Donations can be made to New Humble Community School.
Celebration of life TBA.
