      With great sadness and gentle relief the children of Stella announce her passing on August 15. Stella is survived by her children, Gerald (Ginette), Sonia (Ed), grandchildren Leanne (Ken), Steven (Amanda), Craig (Tara) and Shawna (Bob), great-grandchildren Selia, Cade, Ewan, Maya, Wyatt, Tysen and Khogan. Stella is also survived by her sisters Elsie and Phyllis and sisters-in-law Kate, Millie and Dorothy, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

      Stella was predeceased by her husband Steve, father and mother Andrew and Annie, four brothers Mark, Maurice, Edward and Michael and five sisters, Sophie, Olga, Jean, Kate and Alexandria.

      Stella grew up on a farm near Calmar. She married her husband Steve and spent the rest of her life in Edmonton. Stella was a stay at home mom until her husband passed away in 1961, and later worked part time at Eatons Department Store. She had many hobbies including arts and crafts, needle point, sewing, knitting and she was also a great cook. Stella moved to the St. Basils retirement residence and lived there for 27 years. Stella was a member of the UCWLC and spent many days volunteering her time making perogies and cabbage rolls with the ladies.

      The family would like to thank the staff at the Devonshire Care Centre for their caring devotion and also Dr. Gerwal for his compassionate care and concern.

      MR. GEORGE MANCHAK

      ON June 25th, Mr. George Manchak, of Leduc, Alberta, passed away at the age of 53 years. He leaves to mourn his loss besides his loving wife, 5 sons and 3 daughters; Peter, Steve, Leo, Allan [sic], all at home; Mike on active service; Mrs. Edward Podgurny, of Calmar; Mrs. Willie Hamula, of Leduc; Miss Isobel at home; also 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Bill and Fred of Calmar, Mrs. Andrew Workun of Calmar and Mrs. Mary Tkach of Edmonton; also 3 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28th, at 9:30 a.m. from the family residence to the church of the Immaculate Conception. Rev. Slota, O.S.B.M., will officiate and interment will take place in the local church cemetery. Park Memorial, funeral directors.
