      With great sadness and gentle relief the children of Stella announce her passing on August 15. Stella is survived by her children, Gerald (Ginette), Sonia (Ed), grandchildren Leanne (Ken), Steven (Amanda), Craig (Tara) and Shawna (Bob), great-grandchildren Selia, Cade, Ewan, Maya, Wyatt, Tysen and Khogan. Stella is also survived by her sisters Elsie and Phyllis and sisters-in-law Kate, Millie and Dorothy, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

      Stella was predeceased by her husband Steve, father and mother Andrew and Annie, four brothers Mark, Maurice, Edward and Michael and five sisters, Sophie, Olga, Jean, Kate and Alexandria.

      Stella grew up on a farm near Calmar. She married her husband Steve and spent the rest of her life in Edmonton. Stella was a stay at home mom until her husband passed away in 1961, and later worked part time at Eatons Department Store. She had many hobbies including arts and crafts, needle point, sewing, knitting and she was also a great cook. Stella moved to the St. Basils retirement residence and lived there for 27 years. Stella was a member of the UCWLC and spent many days volunteering her time making perogies and cabbage rolls with the ladies.

      The family would like to thank the staff at the Devonshire Care Centre for their caring devotion and also Dr. Gerwal for his compassionate care and concern.

      MANCHAK - On April 30, 1961, Mr. Steve Manchak of 11531 114 Avenue, passed away in the city at the age of 50 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Stella Manchak of Edmonton; one son and one daughter, Gerald and Sonia at home; one sister in the Ukraine.

      Prayer services will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 1961, at 8:30 p.m. at St. Josaphat's Cathedral. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3, 1961 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josaphat's Cathedral. Reverend Father M. Greshchuk will be the Celebrant, and interment will take place in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Cancer Fund will be appreciated. Park Memorial Ltd. Funeral Administrators and Directors. (The Chapel on the Boulevard).
