      Kevin Roger Wiedel
      August 6, 1962 ~ November 9, 2017 (age 55)

Kevin Roger Wiedel of Hebron, NE the son of Roger and Jackie (Headrick) Wiedel was born August 6, 1962 in Hebron, NE. He departed this life Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Omaha, NE at the age of 55 years.

Kevin grew up on a farm near Hebron, NE milking cows and helping his Dad with chores. He attended school in Hebron and graduated from Hebron High School with the class of 1980.

Kevin was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron. He was baptized, made his first Holy Communion, confirmed and married all in the same church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a lector in church, and sang in the choir.

Kevin married his high school sweetheart, Joan, on October 30, 1981 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, NE by Msgr. Rezabek. This union was blessed with the birth of four children.

Kevin was a farmer but most of all a cattleman. He enjoyed being out in God’s great creation; working with his dad and his brothers. When Joel, his favorite child, was small, Kevin would take him along farming – they were inseparable. He enjoyed watching Joel excel throughout his football career.

Kevin loved baseball and had a real passion for the game. He enjoyed playing, coaching and the Kansas City Royals. He coached his son Eric, his favorite child, from kindergarten through high school playing Legion baseball.

He had a special place in his heart for the youth, and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Kevin enjoyed talking to Jessica, his favorite child, about her love for her kids and the faith, reminiscing about childhood days singing in the living room before church.

Friends and family would describe Kevin as a kind-hearted, generous person who could light up a room with his jokes and stories. He enjoyed adventure and remembered fondly on a special trip to New York he took to visit Michelle, his favorite child, and was fortunate to spend his last few months on earth living with her and creating memories.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Cornelius and Wilma Wiedel and Ben and Irma Headrick, father Roger, and nephew Jordan Burkey.

He is survived by his mother Jackie of Hebron, sons Eric and wife Shelly of Austin, TX, and Joel Wiedel of Austin, TX, daughters; Jessica Knobbe and husband Bryce of Lexington, KY, and Michelle Wiedel and fiancé Jonathan Meyer of Omaha, NE, brothers; Kurk and wife Kris of Hebron, Casey and wife Stephanie of Gilead, NE, Cory and wife Jeri of Omaha, Curtis and wife Amy of Hebron, and Craig of Omaha, sisters; Carlece Kenner and husband Pat of Hebron, Kelli Burkey and husband Terry of Hebron, Kendra Jantzen and husband Trevor of Adams, NE, grandchildren; Brylie and Kylan Wiedel, Bailey, Bryn, Beckett and Briar Knobbe, nieces, nephews and friends.
